Test Fixture with Infrared Safety Screen is Safe, Easy to Operate

Situation: A customer needed a test fixture to simulate power tool performance at high voltage. Operator safety and ease-of-use were critical design parameters.

Solution: MEC created a test fixture that uses an infrared light screen to remove power from the test fixture if an operator crosses into a dangerous area. No safety lid or cover is required.

Results: The test fixture design readily met design criteria. As other products of similar nature where developed, this same test fixture concept was implemented.
